Ocean’s End

Visual commentary on the concerns of ocean plastics. The majority of Oelbaum’s work centers around collections, in this particular work the artist started to collect cheap maritime paintings found while thrifting. Hundreds of wave paintings hung salon style create a background for fishing net and plastic garbage which in turn casts ghostly shadows resembling the fish and other aquatic life that we are bound to kill off if we keep on letting our waste end up in our waterways.
